What’s New. What’s Awesome. — 2024 First Quarter Release Notes and Product Updates

What’s New. What’s Awesome.

Our mission at MoxiWorks: an easier and faster real estate experience that helps agents build a successful career and fulfill the dream of homeownership for their clients. Read on to find out about the new features we’ve released and are coming soon.

User Experience Enhancements

What do we hope to tackle next?consolidation of data between MoxiWorks productsNew cross-product integrationsFeature flipping and the ability for users to preview new features

The Next Generation of MoxiWorks User Interface — The Moxi Design System

What changed?
A more modern, consistent look will simplify the experience for users across products, making it easier for agents to get started and find what they’re looking for. Users will start to see consistency across buttons, forms, menus, and other elements throughout the platform of MoxiWorks products.

Why this matters…
The biggest wins for our users will be simplification across all MoxiWorks products, making it even easier to get started with new services and explore new features.

Timing
We won’t be doing a big disruptive shift. Instead, users will see the new interface start to replace existing features as we roll out updates. This will alleviate stress on users so that they don’t jump in and immediately feel like their workflow has changed. It also allows our developers to prioritize functional updates rather than just adjusting colors, styles, and button locations.

Some examples of the interface update in progress:

  • MoxiImpress menu bar changes
  • MoxiEngage My People filtering and organization
  • MoxiEngage + MoxiPresent presentation integration
  • Platform settings page layout changes
  • Account access and impersonation requests across MoxiImpress and ActivePipe

Marketing Enhancements in MoxiImpress and MoxiPromote

MoxiPromote + MoxiImpress — listing marketing BFFs

What changed?
When a user clicks on “run an ad” or “promote listing” from their MoxiImpress Marketing Guide email, instead of being delivered to the MoxiPromote landing page inside of MoxiWorks, they’ll land directly in the MoxiPromote experience — ready to kick-off starting a listing advertisement.
If they haven’t recently logged in, they’ll be prompted to and then bumped on into MoxiPromote. Swanky.
Why this matters…
This drastically reduces friction for users wanting to place listing ads and start quickly generating leads!
Timing
This feature was made live in March.

Styling Adjustments to Marketing Guide Emails

Adjustment 1 — What changed?
A little less blue, a little more logo

Why this matters…
Blue is a prominent color in real estate and could cause confusion. Additionally, we want the users to know this is a service provided by their brokerage, so the co-branding between MoxiWorks and your company needed to be bolder.

Timing
This feature launched in February.

Adjustment 2 — What is changing?
Updating Just Sold Marketing Guides verbiage

Why this matters…
Not all listing data feeds are created equal (despite recommendations from organizations like RESO). MoxiWorks does our best to interpret hundreds of data feeds to create the best experience for all of our users. Sometimes a feed may indicate a listing has been removed and MoxiWorks will assume it means the listing has sold. In reality, that listing could have been de-activated or re-listed. So, when the agent receives an email that says “Congrats on selling your listing!” when it didn’t sell, it can be confusing.

Timing
Coming Soon! We’re aiming to release this feature at the end of the first quarter / early second quarter.

Enhancements for MoxiPresent

Quick Print Menu for Landscape and Portrait PDFs

What changed?
We’ve added a quick print for portrait or landscape PDF presentations on the homepage.

Why this matters…
This will save users time. Previously, in order to print your presentation, you had to fully open the presentation editor. Now you can quickly grab the PDF and print.

Timing
This feature launched in February.

Additional Images for Custom Comparable Listings in Presentations

What is changing?
We’ll allow users to add multiple photos to custom comparable listings in their presentations.

Why this matters…
Sometimes, a great comparable listing isn’t in your data feed (a different MLS, being sold by owner recently, etc). MoxiPresent makes it easy to add custom listings, but we want to give you more freedom to add detail to those presentations. This allows you to add more photos to those custom listings and provide more information to your recipients.

Timing
Coming soon! We’re aiming to release this feature early second quarter.

Enhancements for MoxiWebsites

Updates to Testimonial Tree Integration — Show Review Source

What is changing?
Logos for review sources now show next to reviews on MoxiWebsites using the Testimonial Tree integration.

Why this matters…
A great benefit of Testimonial Tree is its ability to aggregate reviews from multiple places like Zillow, Google, and even their own. By showing the different review locations, consumers can really see how trustworthy an agent is to their community.

Timing
This feature was released in February 2024.

MoxiWorks and Testimonial Tree integration allows agents to automatically show their reviews from multiple sites. The update now adds a logo next to the review to show the source.

SEO Improvements + YoastSEO Upgrade Options

What is changing?
Nothing, technically. MoxiWebsites users still get the same YoastSEO plugin features as always. However, new additional services are now available from Yoast and will be made available inside of MoxiWebsites should an agent wish to upgrade.

Why this matters…
Yoast continues to be a leader in best practices for search engine optimization and MoxiWebsites is grateful to be supported by their work. By allowing users to upgrade, we’re providing the freedom of choice to scale your SEO efforts.

Timing
Coming soon! We’re looking to provide the Yoast update by the end of the second quarter.

Enhancements to ActivePipe

Shared Campaign Notifications Now Optional

What is changing?
Recipients can now access shared ActivePipe campaigns inside of ActivePipe, without having to retrieve their notification email.

Why this matters…
Users that share ActivePipe campaigns with other users no longer have to send an email notification in order to grant access. However, if they do choose to send an email notification, they can now add a custom message to the email notification helping provide context to the content they’re choosing to share. Previously, email notifications were not optional when sharing a campaign and this could mean a lot of emails to agents when large organizations were releasing content. The second issue was accessing those campaigns — this had to be done via the email — meaning if you lost the email or it went to spam, you had no way to access that campaign. Now you can access it directly in ActivePipe.

Timing
This feature was released in February.

New MoxiCloud Partners

MoxiWorks + HomeStack
  • Description: HomeStack focuses on real estate innovation in the mobile world.
  • Integration: Lead information is synced with MoxiEngage
  • Go Beyond: Put your personalized HomeStack URL into your agent profile so your mobile app link displays on your MoxiWebsites and contact section. A mobile-friendly website, like the one provided by MoxiWebsites, is a strong tool for search engine optimization and building your brand. A mobile app, like HomeStack, builds on your reputation by providing deeper search tools and a connected experience for consumers with their agent.

We started working with MoxiWorks in 2022 and I can say with confidence that it was easily one of the best decisions we’ve made for the real estate industry. Their APIs are world class. We’re operating at scale (10M+ alerts per month) and their systems can handle it. MoxiWorks’ tech is reliable, designed with intent and has allowed us to focus on our core – innovating with mobile.” — Will Grewal, CEO of HomeStack

MoxiWorks' tech is reliable, designed with intent and has allowed us to focus on our core - innovating with mobile."

MoxiWorks + RealReports
  • Description: RealReports pulls together multiple sources of public property data into an easy to understand home report — finding details that would take agents hours to comb through local public records themselves. RealReports can include all sorts of information like multiple valuation models to combat that customer fixation on the Zestimate, or FEMA flood zones and geological maps to assist in explaining risks or insurance on a particular listing.
  • Integration: currently, MoxiWorks users can access RealReports via Single Sign-On when enabled by the brokerage. Also, leads collected through RealReports can automatically sync to MoxiEngage and notify agents of new opportunities.
  • Go Beyond
    • Embed a RealReports report into a MoxiPresent annual property review or listing presentation to give your client a truly deep-dive into info on their property
    • Send out your RealReports using ActivePipe and highlight that data alongside tailored blog articles or other market info
    • Include the RealReport provided QR code image in a photo area of your MoxiImpress marketing design template to gather leads at an open house
    • Run a MoxiPromote ad campaign encouraging members of your community to reach out and request their detailed home report from you

“RealReports has a wealth of critical information for our agents. Now, thanks to the MoxiWorks integration, generating, managing and converting the leads from this amazing tool will be even easier.” — Stephen Meadows, COO of Coldwell Banker Premier

MoxiWorks + Earnnest
  • Description: Earnnest is a digital payment platform that enables secure web-based money transfer for real estate. Think posting earnest money on an offer or paying other transaction fees.
  • Integration: Earnnest provides an integrated task button in MoxiEngage so agents can send out payment requests to customers right from their work zone.
  • Go Beyond: Learn more about the integration https://earnnest.com/partners/moxiworks

“The integration of Earnnest and MoxiWorks signifies more than a simple collaboration of platforms. This marks a pivotal moment for both platforms, as well as for Howard Hanna agents that rely on the tools daily. We are excited to witness the two brands elevate and enhance agent performance, and to be a part of the technological advances that will be the industry standard in years to come.” — Howard “Hoby” Hanna IV, President and CEO of Howard Hanna Real Estate Services

Terms of Use Update

What changed?
We’ll be adding the following language to our Terms of Use:

TERMS THAT APPLY TO YOUR DATA.To be able to service you more, MoxiWorks provides a Work-on-Behalf-Of (Account Access) service that allows for Staff to assist and administer various tasks such as exporting contracts, creating presentations, updating websites. When this service is turned on by an Admin you will receive notifications regarding who has been granted access and instructions on how to turn it off at any time. Furthermore, you will receive a report monthly via email to remind you of who has access to your Account Access service that you can revoke at any time.

Why this matters…
Re-accepting terms of service/use is a very common process across software and most users are not disrupted by this occurrence. This update precedes a feature in development that enhances how we allow users to work on behalf of (aka impersonate or Account Access) other accounts. This new update will eventually allow companies to set if they’d like to grant administrators automatic access to user accounts below them in their organization level.

Timing
We’ll be pushing the updated Terms of Use out to all users on March 18, 2024.

Email Deliverability

Supporting Bulk Email to Gmail Recipients

What changed?
Google released updated compliance requirements to prevent spam from reaching Gmail users.

Why this matters…
New header code needed to be added to our system emails from the platform so that agents using Gmail accounts would still receive platform notifications.

Timing
This launched in February.

Campaign MoxiEngage improvements

What changed?
The MoxiEngage team completed a number of projects to improve MoxiEngage Campaigns deliverability. This included migrating our send services to improved systems that can handle a larger scale of sends. Additionally we improved coding that checked for time zone changes and sequential date logic.

Why this matters…
Many campaigns are triggered based on time-based logic. Some servers were running on US Pacific Standard Time while our databases that contain contact information and saved dates ran on UTC time. Because of the difference, we needed to include additional logic that checked for time changes and supported triggers appropriately. Also, by moving campaign services to a new system allowed us to drastically increase the amount of emails we can send concurrently.

Timing
These improvements were all launched as of the first week of March.

Punishing bad senders

What changed?
We’re starting to crack down on ActivePipe users that are misusing the product. We do this in a few ways. ActivePipe already reviews and verifies your database. During that verification process we look for known spam trap emails. These are fake inboxes created and then included in purchased lists that allow services like Google to track down offenders that are sending spam out to people without an existing business relationship. If you know the person you’re emailing is a real human, you’re compliant. Additionally, we’ll be looking at bounce rates. If your database is full of a lot of undeliverable email addresses, that can be a sign that you’re using a purchased database — not one curated through relationships and appropriate lead generation paths.

Why this matters…
Email compliance is no joke. MoxiWorks and ActivePipe strive to follow the newest regulations around spam compliance and best practices. These rules aren’t just guidelines, but true legal regulations in most countries. Preventing misuse of ActivePipe helps protect all of our users that are ethical and appropriate in how they market their business. If we allowed bad senders to continue to abuse ActivePipe, eventually the tool would be blacklisted in total by major web services and would affect ALL users.

Timing
We’ll be continuing to improve ActivePipe to prevent bad senders from ruining the product for all of the amazing agents that use ActivePipe ethically. Customer Support will notify users if they’ve misused the product and give steps for resolution.

Contact Syncing — MoxiEngage is calling the shots

What changed?
In response to continued changes from the big email providers like Google and Microsoft, a large initiative for MoxiWorks is upgrading the way MoxiEngage manages your sphere.

  • The old school way puts Google and Microsoft in control and can make it difficult for our customers by creating a dependency on that email account. Additionally, MoxiEngage has to depend on syncing upstream to Google and Microsoft and it limits the opportunities and automations that MoxiEngage can provide to users.
  • The new school way puts MoxiEngage in charge as your sphere’s single source of truth. This enables us to deliver a significantly more reliable sphere management tool agnostic of the email provider. It gives agents and brokers the freedom of choice when it comes to how they provide company email and accounts, as well as freedom in how to sync and manage client information.

Why this matters…
Freedom of choice is always our goal as the provider of the real estate industry’s strongest open platform. Additionally, continued dependency on syncing to an email provider like Google or Microsoft puts strain on brokerages looking to merge, acquire, and scale. We will still support, and encourage, syncing to a brokerage provided email at kick-off so that agents hit the ground running with an accurate database already loaded into their CRM.

Timing
Work will be ongoing throughout 2024. Phase 1 was completed in the first quarter allowing us to have stronger control over syncing with various versions of Microsoft exchange / O365.

Compliance

Updated ActivePipe MLS Disclosures on Listing Landing Pages

What Changed?
Some users may notice updated disclosures on Listing Landing Pages created by ActivePipe. This is to abide by North American listing data agreements.

Why this matters…
Compliance and ethics are always important!

Timing
This feature launched in January.

MoxiImpress Brokerage-level Reporting Enhancements

What is changing?
We’re improving the way our customers can self-serve adoption and engagement reporting. MoxiImpress will be adding new reports showing active users, materials created, guide emails sent out.

Why this matters…
Not only can you understand how well adopted your tech is, you can see which agents are using your services. This can support education or coaching efforts with lower performing agents.

Timing
Coming soon! We’re currently piloting these reports and testing data accuracy. They should be available for MoxiImpress administrators in the second quarter.
