Messig stepping into the role to propel the next phase of growth for the proptech company
SEATTLE, Wa. (January 30, 2023) – MoxiWorks, the leading real estate technology platform, announced today that Michael Messig, PhD, has been promoted to Chief Technology Officer. Messig came to MoxiWorks during its acquisition of ActivePipe at the beginning of 2022. Messig was previously CTO at ActivePipe and has held the position of VP of Product Engineering for the last year with MoxiWorks.
“Mike is a wonderful combination of smarts, talent, grit and people skills,” said York Baur, CEO MoxiWorks. “He’s also an innovator who will help us build on the MoxiWorks platform his predecessor Mark Carlson put in place. With Mark’s retirement from MoxiWorks, I have complete confidence in Mike’s ability to take us into the next phase of growth.”
As Baur mentions, prior to Messig taking on the role, Mark Carlson spent the last 12 years leading the charge of the engineering and technology arm of MoxiWorks. Carlson retired from MoxiWorks at the end of 2022 but will remain an advisor to MoxiWorks for the first half of 2023.
“It’s an exciting time at MoxiWorks,” said Messig. ”MoxiWorks is the only proptech platform that can fully meet the needs of the modern real estate agent and I’m looking forward to helping us continue to build even bigger and better products. Our wide range of diverse products gives MoxiWorks its edge and there’s a lot of opportunity on the horizon
Messig is a veteran in the engineering space with more than 15 years of product development experience and holds a PhD from Deakin University in Service Oriented Architecture. Messig has considerable experience building scalable web products and leading engineering teams.
“Mike is a true leader, not only in his technical expertise but also in his ability to inspire and guide his team to success, especially in navigating through difficult challenges and finding innovative solutions, I am incredibly excited for the new opportunities and growth that await him in his new role as the CTO for MoxiWorks,” said Ash Farrugia, co-founder of ActivePipe and Chief Product Officer at MoxiWorks.
MoxiWorks has seen considerable growth over the last few years with notable acquisitions of Imprev (now MoxiImpress), reeazily (now MoxiBalance), and deep partner integrations with WAVV and Milestones.
“This is an innovative, diverse team and together we are going to rock the proptech world in 2023,” said Messig.
